Access Asia business grants to expand WA trade opportunities

The McGowan Government's Access Asia business grants program announced today will support Western Australian businesses to diversify the economy and create jobs - by growing their trade with rapidly-expanding Asian markets.

Today's announcement is the first stage in what will be an ongoing implementation process of the State Government's Asian Engagement Strategy.

Access Asia grants will support product marketing, expo/trade visits, cultural/language training and other activities that help build businesses' capacity to trade with Asia.

Funding of up to $10,000 will apply to approved projects which must relate to the six priority areas identified by the State Government's economic development framework, Diversify WA:

  • Energy;
  • International education;
  • Mining and METS;
  • Primary industries;
  • Technology and advanced manufacturing; and
  • Tourism, events and creative industries.

Approximately 25 grants are available this financial year, with further grants available in 2020-21. Applications will open on Monday September 16, 2019.
