Innovation hubs have been established under the State Government’s New Industries Fund to grow and diversify the economy and create jobs.
The hubs bring together a critical mass of people to access expertise and facilities and make better use of talent and technology. While innovation will take place across Western Australia, a designated hub provides focus, and acts as a beacon to attract startups and small and medium-sized enterprises. They also foster community pride as areas of academic excellence and industry strength.
To date the State Government has established the:
- Joondalup Innovation Hub and co-located WA AustCyber Innovation Hub
- The MTPConnect WA Life Science Innovation Hub
- The WA Data Science Innovation Hub
