Global Offices – Korea – November 2018

The Government of Western Australia’s Korea Office in Seoul has been supporting Western Australian businesses since 2004.

South Korea is Western Australia’s fourth largest export market, having been in the top five for two decades. In 2019, South Korea was the Western Australia’s third largest market for iron ore exports and fourth largest market for petroleum exports. South Korea was also Western Australia’s second largest market for wheat exports in 2019.

There are trade opportunities for Western Australian companies in a number of sectors, including education, tourism, resources and energy and agriculture. Another key objective for Western Australia is to provide an investment gateway between the State and Korea.

In recent years, the cooperative relationship between Western Australia and Korea has been influential. More active research, trade and investment for the development of new technologies is driving a new growth engine on the Fourth Industrial Revolution era, in areas such as rechargeable batteries, electric vehicles, energy storage systems (ESS) and hydrogen energy.

The Government of Western Australia’s Korea Office helps Western Australian companies to access trade and investment opportunities in Korea.
