Round 2 Expressions of Interest Now Open

The Access Asia Business Grants program supports Western Australian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and organisations such as Asian business councils and industry associations advance their international business efforts in Asian markets.

Round 2 is now open and the department invites Expressions of Interest from WA owned or operated businesses seeking to expand into Asian markets.

Defence Science Centre grants

The Defence Science Centre provides grants to support collaborative defence-relevant research and research related activities, including capability development and capacity building. These grant programs are an important tool in facilitating university-government-industry research and skills exchange as well as cultivating relationships and linkages.

Innovation Vouchers program

The Innovation Vouchers program is an initiative of the State Government's New Industries Fund, which assists small to medium enterprises (SME) to commercialise their ideas and innovations and expand to create jobs.

The program can provide your SME with the financial boost it needs to access professional skills, services or knowledge, enabling you to advance your idea or commercial activity in Western Australia.

Applications for the 2020-21 round open 9am 24 February and close 11am 8 April 2020 (final extension).

Local Capability Fund

The purpose of the Local Capability Fund (LCF) is to assist small and medium sized enterprises in Western Australia to increase their capability and competitiveness as suppliers of products, services and works to the Western Australian State Government, major projects and other important markets.

The LCF typically provides funding assistance on a dollar for dollar basis for activities such as planning, improvements to internal infrastructure, plant and equipment and training.

Previous rounds of the LCF included: METRONET Railcar Procurement, Aboriginal Business, the Future Battery Industry the Western Australian Industry Participation Strategy (WAIPS) and the Bunbury Outer Ring Project.

The LCF also continues to provide ongoing support for the steel and construction industry rounds.

Premier's Science Fellowship Program

The Premier’s Science Fellowship Program aims to attract Premier's Science Fellows (distinguished researchers and leaders of international prominence) and supporting Premier's Early to Mid-Career Fellows to Western Australia.

Appointed Fellows will be expected to increase Western Australia’s capabilities and capacities in their specific Area of Research; deliver benefits and opportunities to the State; improve collaboration; enhance engagement with industry and other end-users; attract research funding; and be ambassadors for science in Western Australia, including for the general public.
