Applications are now open for the State's Innovation Vouchers Program, which assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to bridge the gap between innovative ideas and commercialisation.

For the first time, applicants for the program will have to demonstrate how their innovation will create or support Western Australian jobs and help diversify the WA economy.

Applicants will receive up to $20,000 which can be used for research, product development, technology transfer, and support services for intellectual property and commercialisation.

Applications close at 11am on Wednesday March 28, 2018 with successful applicants to receive their funding from July 1, 2018.

Recipients will need to co-invest at least 20 per cent of government funding received.

The Innovation Vouchers Program is part of the State Government's New Industries Fund, a $16.7 million fund to support and accelerate new and emerging businesses in WA.
