Tourism

Tourism is a key economic driver generating more than 94,000 jobs and contributing $9 billion to the Western Australian economy. Tourism WA has a strategy in place to increase the value of tourism in Western Australia to $12 billion by 2020.

Tourism WA’s aim is to develop, attract and market events that strengthen WA’s brand, deliver visitors to the State, utilise venue infrastructure, add social vibrancy, and encourage community participation.

A five-hour flight from Singapore and the closest Australian capital city to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Perth shares a business time zone with the emerging economies of Asia.

Western Australia also boasts a diverse and exciting events calendar featuring world class events such as the Hopman Cup, V8 Supercars, Telstra Drug Aware Pro Margaret River, Perth International Arts Festival, Sculpture by the Sea, and the Perth International golf tournament.

Spectacular natural scenery is just one of the State’s attributes. Perth –and among the world’s most liveable cities – is a dynamic mix of commercial, residential, entertainment and arts spaces.
