The Government of Western Australia’s India Office in Mumbai has been supporting Western Australian businesses for over 22 years.
India is a significant trading partner for Western Australia in gold, petroleum and alumina/bauxite. It is also the largest market for chickpeas, the second largest market for wool and along with China, India is one of the two main source countries for international students. There are trade opportunities for Western Australian companies in a number of sectors, including education, minerals and mining services, energy trade, agribusiness and tourism promotion.
In December 2016, the Governments of Western Australia and Andhra Pradesh established a new Sister State Agreement, and committed to working together in mining, agriculture, energy and education.
