  • Will help drive more interstate visitors to WA to fill our hotel rooms and grow jobs

Following an open tender process, Tourism Western Australia has appointed Elite Representation Asia Pacific (Elite) as its trade marketing engagement representative on Australia's east coast.

Elite is a sales and marketing company with offices in Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne, giving Western Australia a physical presence in each city.

The company, which is owned and operated by Pat Monneron, has a wealth of experience and in-depth knowledge of the travel and hotel industries.

Elite will increase WA's profile with key distribution partners including travel agents and wholesalers to ensure more WA products are sold as part of travel packages to interstate visitors.

The team will also focus on improving the trade industry's knowledge of Perth and Western Australia through a comprehensive trade strategy including an annual roadshow.

Elite will report to Tourism WA when the contract begins tomorrow (December 11).

It is the first Tourism WA representation on the east coast in seven years, after the previous government shut the service down in 2010.

The appointment is a direct response from the McGowan Government's first Tourism Industry Consortium which was held earlier in the year.
